These two verses of the Bible, among hundreds of others, show us two very important things. First, they show us God's attitude about everyone. He loves us all and cares deeply about our future. He does not want us to be separated from Him, but reunited by faith in what His Son has accomplished for us. And second, these verses show us how we can be reunited with God.

Here is how a person can come to know God as his or her Heavenly Father. First, we must believe on His Son, Jesus Christ. That means, not only that we must believe that He existed - even the devil believes that - or believe in the facts pertaining to His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, death on the cross, and resurrection from the dead - the devil believes that too - but we must accept these truths for our own salvationl We must put our trust in Christ alone to save us! Not our good works. not the church. Not our parents. Not some dead saint or Mary. Not some ritual or sacrament. And not some church leader. We must trust in Christ alone to save us.

And secondly, we must repent from our sins. It is not enough to jsut feel sorry for one's sins. They must be confessed and forsaken. Proberbs 22:18 says that "He who hides his sins will not prosper, but whoever confesses and forsakes them will find mercy." We must turn away from all sin in order to be forgiven by God. Don't think that this is too hard. God would not tell us to do something if it was not our responsibility to do it. Repentance must be done to be reunited with God.
